Welcome to the Group Wendy
Hi Wendy Welcome to the Group. I have not switched on the computer for a couple of days and have just read all the messages. You have been through a very bad time - first with your car accident and then the shock of the surgery to your husband! You must take care of yourself and try to rest as much as you can and not to worry! Remember - you have to heal your body as well as his! It is very difficult to sleep after surgery. I always liked to sleep flat on my face - but that was an impossibility! Every time you try and get comfortable you feel you want to move again and every tiny movement is agony for quite a while. Time is a great healer - just both of you try and get as much sleep as you can. You may find his days and nights also merge into each other for a while as regards his sleeping. We are all friends on this Group and we are all here to help and care for each other - right around the World! Our love and prayers go out to you and Luie and we are all thinking of you. Very best wishes Jenny in Falmouth ( Cornwall - England) (triple bypass Dec. 1997) Married to Mike - Mother to four sons, Matthew (28) Damian (27) Tristan (24) and Veryan (22) - three step children and one small step- grandson Evan (2)
Jenny, Thank you for the Welcome ! Luie has been up allot more today and has been walking too much I think I have just gave him a pain pill and have him resting on the Couch. It is now time for me to think of what to make for a healthy meal. I will rest as much as I can but my house work and family still need me. I will go back to the doctor myself next week and I have Physical Therapy on my back. At least the swelling and back spasms have gone down, but the back pain and numbness in my right arm are still there. Well I need to get going to start my evening meal. God bless, Wendy S.
Dear Wendy, There is a healthy recipes e-group which you can access the same way you accessed the bypass group and there is also a website which has weight watchers recipes. The weight watchers website is www.angelfire.com/journal/wwrecipes/index.html The e-group sends me literally dozens of recipes, and although I haven't tried them yet, I have created a now very huge file of them. Hopefully, some of them might be useful to you in trying to plan low fat meals. It's not easy either for me or for the friend who had bypass surgery (which is why I joined this group.) He is never home, and it has been a real challenge for him to get meals at the university he teaches at which are low fat. I wish you much strength and luck I hope this helps, Floraine
Floraine, Thank you for the healthy recipes list I found it and will week through the recipes as I can. I love to cook now I will just need to learn the Healthy way of doing it :-) Hope your day is good ! Wendy
