Stopsign
OK who is going to help me out. I went to Stopsign and it ran a free scan. It found 2 trojan horses. It wants me to pay 35$ to get rid of them. If I run my AVG it does not find any. I tryied to get rid of Stopsign but it wont let me. If I click on the icon to delete it says it will not remove the program, I must go to control panel and add and remove programs to remove it. I tryied this and it is Not in there. How do I get rid of it. I think someone is trying to make a buck. Steve
I called Stopsign on the phone and they want 35$ to tell me how to uninstall there product.It looks like I will have to reformat and be down a couple of days. I will start tonight. Steve
Steve l got the page Stopsign...but did not run the scan....was scared to do it...after what happen to you l glad l did not... figures after you run free scan..now they want $$ typical.. l am sure someone is really trying to get $$$..the wrong way here..from you.. hope you find away to get rid of it.. Steve That is the worst l have heard off....still wants 35$ to get rid of the thing...and now you have reformat the puter becouse of it...grgrgr som nerve of people to make a buck... Steve I run the AVG, Popupstopper Free, Adware SE, and Spybot - Search and Destroy. Each of these have a place where you can donate money. They work fine for me. I haven't had to reformat in almost two years. I have used them for many years. Also, stay away from McAfee. I went as far as to buy one of their suites. After I installed it, I couldn't get on the internet. I went through set up many times until very frustrated. I finally called their tech support. After several hours They finally said that I needed to turn off three of the five products in the suite to be able to get online. I took it back.
