Sorry Guys

Sorry everyone that I haven't responded the past couple of days. I am sure that you will understand. I have been migraining the past couple of days. Yesterday was really bad. I couldn't even see most of the time and something new started about five months ago. I think that it has to do with my seizures. I just feel out. I didn't even know I was falling until I was there. I scraped my hip pretty bad and one arm. Just as soon as my husband got home he wanted to know what had happened when he saw my arm. Oh well. Today was not as bad. :-) It will be better tommorrow and I am going to see one of my docs ( whom I like by the way). He is a neuro but also my psychiatrist. Hopefully Thursday I can catch up. I do want to say that I agree with what you said wholeheartedly changeagent and I am going to do what I can to make sure that someone hears about the treatment that I recieved. That man could have cared less. And Dick, that is a great idea about the pain management clinics and an avenue that I have never explored. There is one in the same building as my neuro and another across town that I know of. I am definitely going to discuss it with my docs and if they aren't in favor I will check it out myself. I hope and pray that everyone of you are doing well and I well catch up on my reading and my mail on Thursday. All the best, Sandra

Hi Sandra, I understand about the strange, loss of consciousness thing. I started having migraines at age 12, and by 16 I was "blacking out" an average of once a month. Finally, I went to my regular doctor about it, after I had blacked out at a meeting where I was scheduled to give a speech, and also in the hallway at school, where I was in the midst of final exams. He told me that it was just due to "my time of the month" and that I should begin taking it easier then. Well, my mom took him at his word and we let the matter drop. That was in July. The following October, while driving to pick up my brother from school, I blacked out on the highway. Witnesses say my vehicle accelerated and veered to the right. The road went toward the southwest, I went toward the northwest, and continued until I hit a 30-foot high rock embankment. The speedometer was stuck at 71 mph. After over 6 weeks in the hospital, the loss of vision in my left eye, numerous 3rd degree burns on my legs and many broken bones, the doctors finally took my black outs seriously. PLEASE don't let this go. Demand that someone find out what triggers these spells for you. It may be nothing, but it may be more serious too. I will keep you in my prayers and my thoughts. Take care and be safe, Kayhlan

*SIGH* Why, oh why do doctors in this day and age still use this as an excuse for any complaint a woman might have? I've just heard it from woman friends of mine way too often. I'm so sorry you had to go through something with such severe consequences for them to take it seriously. Take care of yourselves, everyone... Cathy

Good luck Sandra. No one deserves to be a migraineur. Dick in AZ
