Social Security Disability

I have another question for all of you. Have any of you tried for or do you receive, Social Security Disability? If so, what kind of nightmare are we up against? Do any of you, who are Military Veterans, receive any form of disability from the VA? Hugs, Barbee

Yes Barbee I am on SS Disabality. It all depends on what your doctor says. Start the process NOW. It will take up to 6mo to get it. Your doctors word is not good enough, you will be sent to government doctors who will evaluate Charlel.. All the doctors they send you to will be 300 miles from home. They do this to make you discouraged. When they try this s--t call them and tell them you cannot drive that far and they will find a closer one. You will be denied the first time but when you get a laywer who works off commisson you will get it . I think the lawyers have a deal with the government. Laywers get 1/3 of your back pay and you have to have one to get it. The goverment has to pay you from the first day you applayed. I got 12,000$ in back pay.Start the prosess NOW. Steve. Been there and done that. Charlie & Barbee <mstrsn@... I have another question for all of you. Have any of you tried for or do you receive, Social Security Disability? Hi Barbee: Im the one with the bypass but I work as a Teachers Aide...My husband is 100 from the VA. He has applied for SSI also but so far they have turned him down 2x. His apeal should be coming up soon. Hes on a lot of meds for PTSD. They just dont wanna give it to him. The atty said since hes getting money from the govt already they consider it double dipping. Yet I know someone who got SSI Disability first and Then got 100 percent. If your husband even remotely thinks heart problem or anything could be service connected he should go and apply. They also backdate it. I wish you luck. Stannis

Hi Steve, Thanks for the info. We are going to start on this as soon as, Charlie is able to get out of the house to go to the SS. Two years ago my husband was laid off after 24 years with SWB. Even though he was only 55 at the time, with the number of years of service and his age he qualified to receive his retirement benefits. Because of his age we had to invest his money in his retirement plan till he reaches what ever age he will need to be by the time he can draw it. Do you know if you can have any investments and still qualify for DSSI ? Hugs, Barbee Yes Barbee I am on SS Disabality. It all depends on what your doctor says. Start the process NOW. Barbee: If charley gets his disabality he will get more money I get 1225.00$ a month. The government told me that if I applay for my pension and get it they will consider me retired and will cut my benifits to plane old SSI whitch is not verry much. One lady I knew was getting a pension plus disabality payments and when the government found out she had to pay back all the money she got from disabality payments. Steve Charlie & Barbee <mstrsn@...
