It is suposed to. By the release of true, natural endorphines, but it must be
through real sexual satisfaction.
I cannot even believe I repeated this statement, but my Dr. told it to me.
Hmmm...

Hmmm, Sex huh? Well I have a ? here, does anyone else find themselves having
sex with a migraine just to satisfy they're spouse? This is the case with
me....I just feel like I must do this even if I'm in alot of pain to retain
some normalcy in my marriage. I'm not resentful but it's very painful at
times and I finds myself "biting the bullet", (no pun intended) so that my
husband may enjoy himself.

If I have a bit of a headache, kinda nagging, 15 minutes outside in the Hot
Tub & *sex* may help but if it's a Migraine, no way, cause I am miserable, &
no one would want to be near me! I don't want to be touched, spoken to,
nothing!
I have heard it helps some people & have also heard some people get
Migraines from sex, orgasm actually. (bummer)

Sometimes it is the guilt of saying "No"....that forces us to 'give in' to
the spouse's needs.

I agree, however sometimes my husband just services me, out of love. And
it's always a nice surprise! I think my first post regarding the issue made
my husband look like the bad guy...he's not, men are very different sexually
than women. He is always kind when asking if I'm up to it and I would rather
have sex with him since I'm a chronic migrainuer than have him looking
elsewhere. My 84 year old Grandmother told me on my wedding day that if you
always have a headache and say "no"....they will find they're satisfaction
somewhere else. She was a migrainuer so I think she probably said no too
many times and regretted it.
I'd like to hear the male perspective on this one.

thank you hippolyta! i was just about to say the same thing about equating
laundry with sex! let's get real here; migraines are a disease, not a
choice. they can lead to a stroke and extra exertion is not really the
answer for most of us. enough said.....kat

Suzi, I couldn't agree with you more on this one. It's a matter of
compromise, which is what all great marriages should consist of as well as
love and trust. The fact of the matter is that we are sexual beings and it's
a very important part of a marriage or relationship. I am not going to
compromise my marriage and expect my husband to be celebate and continue to
love, honor and cherish me..forsaking all others because I have migraines. I
prefer to compromise and keep my marriage great!
