setbacks...another name for????

I had quad bypass done the beginning of Feb 2003 then had another heart attack and seven stents put in (some in the grafts)the beginning of May 2003, this is a setback? I thought I would be feeling better eventually, now still take nitro for the angina and still cant really do anything.Aren't you supposed to be better or at least have some hope that it will get better.Don't mean to sound like a moaner/groaner but.....

Yes, a stacked deck, it would seem . I don't usually give direct advice, but here's what I do: Supplements: Folic acid 400 - 800 micro grams/day (usually given for excessive homocysteine - I take it 'just in case' there is benefit ) Multi-B vitamin SloNiacin 500 mg/day Vit E 400 i.u per day Meds: Aspirin 81 mg/day . I just bite about a quarter of a regular aspirin (no stomach problems here) - also regular aspirin may be better than coated (enteric). Statin (chpoletsterol): Zocor 80 mg/day B.P. Ace inhibitor: Vasotec (generic) 2.5 mg/day (small dose) B.P./anti arhythmic: Tenormin(generic) 10 mg./day . Ace inhibitors have been shown to help the interior condition of the arteries. Life-style (read: Dr Dean Ornish) changes can help, including relaxation techniques, diet, exercise(if possible). good luck Harold
