question about blood test results
Why? Is he paying by the milligram? I'm doing 20mg of generic lovastatin and it seems to be doing the trick. No side effects I'm aware of.

Hi am almost 14 years post 2nd CABG X5 and have terrible genetics. I only went 7 years after first surgery with no meds. I have been on 40mg of lipitor for many years with no side affects. Although I exercise and do lo fat when genetics bad it would be unwise not to take the higher dose of lipitor. My tot cholesterol went from 190 -210 to 135 - 150 with 40 mg of lipitor. Just had cath test because of angina and valve problem. Results were good considering we knew RCA graft was blocked and mitral valve leaking. Valve wasn't to bad and both left grafts still open. Small amount of disease after LAD graft but not enough for any invasive procedure. As I like my cycling and walking while playing golf I am going to try ECP (external counterpulsation) treatments. Its tedious but beats cracking chest open again. Harry K

No, it's because before the MI, we were macrobiotic, tofu-eating, no-drugs, tree-hugging "naturalists" (not to be confused with nudists:)). Al also has sort of a fatalist attitude about health since the MI, so while we (that's the Queen's "we") work on that, I get to be the sleuth and reactionary. :) I wondered why the jump from 10 to 40 mg, instead of trying 20 mg first, which is when his doc told us about the new recommendations for more aggressive treatment. SO JUST CURIOUS WHAT DO THEY THINK CAUSED THE mi? ROSE StarLyin@... Don't live faster than your Guardian Angel can fly.... ^i^
