Q-10
Floraine: Thanks for the advise..i read a book by Dr. Steven Sinatra regarding coenzime Q10 and it seems like its natural and cant hurt. And I did ask both of his doctors and they just dismissed my questions. Im so tired of hearing i have the "best doctors" in my area and its pulling teeth to get them to give me a yes, no or maybe answer.( I would wet myself if they said "i dont know" ). Amy & BJ
Dear Amy, My friend's doctor is at Yale Medical Center and he prescribes Co-Q-10. A great website to find out information on is:www.jonsplace.org. His page of links is INCREDIBLE. I went to Medline and to St. Luke's Roosevelt--where they are testing a nutritional supplement specifically designed for people with congestive heart failure, which my friend Jonathan has. Did you find Steven Sinatra's book authoratative? I want to give Jonathan information from Gary Null's Clinician's Handbook, but fear that the tone of that and many natural healing/alternative medicine books is very self-righteous and he will get turned off? Thanks for writing back. I am very lucky that I get to listen in on this group and feel privileged when the rare moment occurs that I have something to add. Floraine

<<www.jonsplace.org. Wow, this was such an interesting site - thanks! I am really excited about the supplement he promotes for 2 reasons: 1. It is manufactured by Royal Numico who is the parent company to my company (Rexall) - and I'm hoping that now that we are owned by them I will have access to a great CHF supplement like MyoVIVE which is on that site. And 2. That supplement has Creatine - most known to be used by bodybuilders for intense workouts. I have been promoting Creatine for athletes for about a year, and have always thought "If its good for muscle building, wouldn't it be good for the heart??" Very interesting. Thanks Chris for sharing that! Ann Ann McCrea, RN www.OneTeamGlobal.com Because On the Internet The World is Your Business Partner
Has anyone heard of Chelation to help lower cholesterol, etc?
I have heard of Chelation and there are a lot of books which talk about it. One of these is Burton Goldberg's The Alternative Medical Guide to Heart Disease. You might want to go to www.jonsplace.org and go to the chat for people with heart disease and ask there. I have never met anyone who does Chelation, so going to that chat might help. It's a great website, and Jon has Congestive Heart Failure, so he keeps the site pretty honest. Good luck, Floraine
Hello all, Several have asked about Chelation Therapy. I had it several years ago, and to be honest it did little to improve my problems. My major problem is living with a low ejection fraction of but had to have a triple by-pass to clear two badly blocked arteries. Chelation is really for clearing out some of the gunge that affects the arterial system, and the one thing it certainly did for me was that where there was an sign of claudification it improved the situation by about 20 - 30%, especially in my carotid arteries. I am now on cervivastatin which the "experts" tell me does a similar thing. But I am somewhat sceptical. Chelation, here in the UK, is very expensive and there are not many centres that do it. It means regular attendance at the clinic for about twelve weeks (or more), and over a period of about three to four hours receiving by infusion into the blood stream a concoction of substances that gradually chelae the arteries. It can be slightly uncomfortable, but there are few side effects, and a lot of people swear by its effectiveness. As I said, it did little to make me feel better, but it did help in clearing my carotids. (proven by Doppler ultrasound examination before and after treatment). Yours, Brian
hi all my mother, uncle and aunt all had chelation.i have seen no difference in the females of the family, but now my uncle is a different story.he really did benefit from it.i did not go with that treatment, but had a triple by-pass and double stent.my uncle keeps up with his treatment maintence and seems to be real well. robyn Whatever we sow...seeds of rejection, bitterness, love, kindness...We will reap in kind. That is the law of life.
