Overhauls

What is wrong with blue jeans. I was born in them and raised in them. I have worn them every day of my life. I go every where in them. I don`t even own a pair of dress pants. I had to buy a pair of dress pants to get married in. I wore them that one day and they are still hanging in the closit.(Dont fit anymore). I had to rent a TUX for my daughters wedding. Doing the type of work I do only blue jeans will hold up and I am working on something all the time. Most of them have greese and oil stains but i have 2 pair I use for going out. I guess I am the RED NECK here. Steve Y.

When I was a teenager I could get them in Black. Maroon Bage, white and blue. I paid 4.95$ a pair and had all colors. This is all I have ever worn. Steve Y [INLINE] rita_p44 <rita_p44@... Steve, Nothing wrong with blue jeans. That's the dress code in Texas! Either Levi or Wrangler. Hubby wears Levis to work and Wrangler when we country western dance. In summertime, it's jean shorts here. He also wears a lot of Carhartt brand clothing....it's a good work clothing line. When he's getting down and comfortable or working on something dirty or greasy....it's overalls time for him. And I do think he looks SEXY in them. I don't mind them at all. But many people where we live where we live, are surprised enough to take a second look when they see overalls. Especially when we are either at my mom's farm, or our farm at the lake. But when he's at Mom's he gets razzied by my brothers and brothers-in-law; when he's at the lake, he gets razzed by a few of the lazy slackers who don't do any of the down and dirty work. Both sets of these relatives are strictly Levi or Wrangler wearers. Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area where we live, it's more a METROPOLITAN area, and you just don't see a lot of people wearing overalls! Fort Worth is a much more down to earth city, and the people there are warm and friendly, and not as likely to stare at Mark's overalls. I was born in Fort Worth....it's a cattle town with a cattle town atmosphere. I like it. Dallas...on the other hand, can seem to be little on the stuck-up side, with a not as accepting attitude about dress codes. Although Levi's and Wranglers or still acceptable....and mingle well with the corporate and "Yuppie" types. You don't see many overalls there. There is only a 30 mile distance between the two cities....and we live in between! Go out in the surrounding areas within a 50 mile radius...you find more farming communities, and more overalls. But Mark is the kind of person who doesn't care what people think, and will always wear whatever he wants whenever he wants....and to H*LL with everyone else. That's one thing I love about him! It's just that when he wears them out here, I notice that people stare. I'm protective of him, and I'm also the one that buys his clothing and dresses him. I lay out his clothing for work everyday....and just have to smile when I see him reach in the closet to pull out the overalls instead of what I laid out for him. He just doesn't care what other people in the city think. It's not like I walk 10 paces behind him when hes got them on when we're out so no one will know I'm with the guy in overalls....I'm still right there walking and holding hands with him! [INLINE] I just don't like the razzing he takes from relatives on both sides because of his overalls, or the strange looks he gets from "citified" yuppies in our area. Cause I'm as protective over him as I am over my child and grandchildren. Connie "Steven A. Young" <say309@... What is wrong with blue jeans. I was born in them and raised in them. Rita, I seldom wore jeans as a teenager, except at home. I attended public school from 1956-1968 here in Texas. The dress code at our public schools in Texas at that time, prohibited girls wearing pants. We could only wear dresses and skirts/blouses. Except on the very coldest of days. When it dropped below freezing, we could wear pants or jeans UNDER our skirt or dress! Now can you imagine just how STUPID that looked! [INLINE] I wouldn't even do it, 'cause it looked to friggin' weird! I would wear an outfit with tights instead. But yeah....as an adult is when I started wearing jeans. But here in Texas....I wear shorts or jean shorts for the most part....year round! That's my comfort zone. And because I grew accustomed to wearing dresses in youth , when I entered the workforce as an adult.....I always have leaned toward dresses vs pant suits! Guess old habits die hard! But give me my shorts any day of the week! Especially if they are cutoff jeans! And Hey guys! I too have about 3 pairs of overalls! I have to do a little of that farm work myself on occasion, and I do go to the hunting lease with hubby even though I don't HUNT! I go just to be with him. So...I have my share of CAMO clothing too! So, HELL YEAH....I'm a REDNECK too! Connie rita_p44 <rita_p44@... Steve Y... Upgrade your email with 1000's of emoticon icons ... Theres nothing wrong with blue jeans. I have always wore overalls. Jeans just seemed to always restrict certain parts of the body. Overalls don't. Plus they offer the much needed pocket space to carry tools in. As an electrician everyone carried around a heavy tool belt on one side or the other. Not me. My overalls were my tool belt. They offer about ten pockets that are big enough to carry almost any hand tool needed. And the weight was carried on my shoulders instead of my hips. Hershell

Speaking of high class restaurants. We have one in Knoxville called Regis. It is the top of the line when it comes to going out to eat. Cost for two people is some where around 250.00. Recently a friend of ours wanted to go there for her birthday. So the six of us decide that's where we would celebrate her birthday. The only thing is I went in overalls and my house shoes. Everybody got a kick out of it. Didn't think they were going to let me in. They did but put us off in the corner away from everyone else which was a good thing because the frozen margaritas flowed for a long time that night. And thats our gang drink. We all love'm. Hershell, I'm rollin' on the floor laffin' my a$$ off! YOU are just like Mark! He just doesn't care what others think! I'm striving to be that way too......after seven years with him, I've loosened up quit a bit. But I'm still having trouble with that rule we women have about not wearing white shoes after Labor Day! And we still have summer type weather in Texas then. It's just a fashion thing that I've heard all my life, and as a little southern girl had to comply! Connie Hereshell <hefreels@...
