off the pump
Hello, My name is rob and I live in Western Kentucky. Last November I wasn'e feeling very good and it was also my 47th birthday. I was having chest pressure. We called my wifes mother and she took us to the hospital in Henderson, Ky. After a couple of days and a stress test, the drug induced stress, It should be called the guided tour of hell,I was told I had blockage and that I was being transfered to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. They did a cart cath that afternoon tha the dr. then told me I needed a bypass. This was done the next day. The surgery was off the pump by-pass and I had 2 by- passes done. I can honestly tell you that it was not anywhere as bad as I had thought it would be. I had the surgery done on 7Nov03 a Friday and was on ICU until Monday morning then moves to a regular room. At St. Mary's, all post surgery rooms are private and at this hospital, they treat every body like royality. The staff are all first class and the care is the best i have ever seen. I went home a week after surgery. If you are told that you need this surgery, dont put it off and get it done as soon as you can. Feel free to email me directly if you have any questions at all.
