Hi Everyone, I had my MRA and MRI done on Monday. I won't get the results back or at least I don't expect to until I see my neuro next week. It has been a horrible two days. I am hurting really bad right now, but that is par for the course anymore. I just took two phenergans and a Lortab so maybe I'll feel better in a few. I just wanted to catch you up on what is new with me. I went to see my M.D. yesterday, armed with my info on Fibromyalgia and a raging migraine at the time that she could obviously see from my eyes. She is a good doc and has been treating me for several years so she knows that I am not a drug seeker. Only recently have I ask for some pain meds and got them from her, thank the Lord. Anyway, she was surprised at the info on the fibro and how many symptoms that I had. She agreed that I had them because she has witnessed them. She suggested that I go to a good pain management clinic first ( Surprise, that was exactly what I was going to request ) and see if they diagnosed me with fibro and also treat my migraines. She agreed with me about only returning to my neuro to get the results of my MRI and MRA because she doesn't agree neccessarily with her either. After the pain clinic, if they don't diagnose the fibro she is going to refer me to a Rheumotologist. She said the MRI of my neck came back normal Ron. I was surprised, because in '92 I had been diagnosed with a ruptured disc. ??? Good news though. I sure didn't want an operation. She also gave me another prescription of Phenergan and only 15 Lortab to hold me until I can see the pain specialist. I haven't scheduled my appt. yet with the pain clinic. When I call wish me luck that it doesn't take eight weeks to get in to see them like it does most specialist. I don't know that I have as much fortitude as Deb and can withstand this for much longer. Also, I live in terror of another granmal seizure hitting me. When my migraines reach a certain level I always seem to seize. I haven't had a seizure in two weeks now since I have been taking the Lortab. I am petrified of running out. Thanks for listening and being there. Love, Sandra

I too am worried that Justin will have another seizure with his next migraine, but the inderal seems to be working so I don't worry too much. We will pray for relief for you soon and a sppedy appointment. When you call, tell them that you can come in at any time if someone suddenly cancels, this might speed things along. Cathy/Justin

Well, I thought I had good news on the Louis front last night but he seems to change w/ the wind and the wind changes a lot here. Last night he seemed to feel guilt and sorrow, wanted to work things out. He did come home tonight but only bc he was exhausted. Who wouldn't be exhausted when the keep his schedule. Fri night late, Sat afternoon and night late, Sun. afternoon and evening and Monday he was out til after 3 am and he had to work. he worked Monday and today (Tues). He seemed to want to sleep and ignore me. He is also ignoring his children which makes me believe it isnt' just me. They have both phoned me sad, his son was crying bc he knew something was up w/ his father and me and he said he didnt' want to lose me. I didn't want to burden him w/ my problems, he is only 14, so I didn't confide in him but told him I wasn't getting anymore attention than they were getting. he knows his father. Well, he came home tonight and after he finally woke up we had a talk. He was horrible. He said it was over, he wanted me out by the end of the weekend!!!!!! I refused. He isn't getting rid of me that easily. My parents have already bought tickets to fly here the 17th, nonrefundable and I have a doctors appt bc my cervical precancerious cells are back and that needs to be taken care of. I won't have insurance when I get to the US, atleast not right away. Also, he is not getting the easy way out. I am going to stay so he will pay the car payment, insurance and other bills. If I just left they would be my responsibility and many bills are his as well such as store cards (my Dillards card is all his clothes). He said horrible things such he wanted me gone, it was over, he didnt' feel the same blah blah blah. I dco not understand how somebody can do a complete 180 in less than a month, it doesn't make sense. The one thing I do know is he behaves differently in Montreal, his home city and where his family lives. He is much worse here, always has been. Then he kind of changedhis tune. We watched The Story of US on our movie channel and that probably had something to do w/ it but he still wasn't behaving normal, not totally. He did think we should go to counselling and try to work it out. One thing that REALLY bothers me is I think he has a hickey, I know it is icky, on his chest. It is on the right side. When I asked him about it he said it was a soccer injury (he played Saturday afternoon). I haven't noticed it before but that doesn't mean it wasn't there but it does look like a hickey. It is light to medium in colour, not dark. I am goint to try to get a closer look tomorrow. I also found a hotmail addy in his adddy book, I have never heard of this person. It could be innocent but it doesn't sound like it is. Well, that is all I am going ot write for now as I am not feeling well and off to bed. Night, Steph

Steph, You are wayyyy to trusting girl!! If I thought I saw a hickey, and then a hotmail addy, WAHOOOOOOOOOO I would have been ALL OVER HIM!! I wonder if he's cheating!! Ok, I'll be honest, I THINK he IS! Email me anytime. I lived with a boyfriend before getting married 13 years ago, and he cheated on me. I was soooo trusting like you and he was screwing me over!! My best friend just had a husband of 17 years cheat on her!! I can tell you that, he's showing ALL the signs of a cheating spouse! Hang in there Steph, and email me anytime. Diane

Steph, Girl you just don't deserve to be treated this way. I know the financial responsibilities bother you but, if that is the only reason you are staying and trying to work it out, then it isn't worth it. If you love him Stay but if you just think you need him then you aren't being fair to yourself by staying. You sound like an intelligent, sweet person who deserves to be loved and treated with respect. The hickey thing worries me a little. It certainly could explain why he's been so unpredictable lately. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt though. You should keep your eyes open and watch for clues. Did you come right out and ask him if there was someone else? If so what was his response? I hope that you two can come together and love one another. It is so sad to see a marriage end. I will light a candle for you and think positive thoughts. Take care and put yourself first. BTW- have you posted about your ER visit? I've been worried and haven't read anything about if. Always here to listen, Maggie in NC

I am not easily offended Steph so you can say anything to me I'm here for you. My father-in-law is good with computers and I'll have him search the web and find out who owns that email account. Take care of yourself Maggie

Hi all you fellow migraineurs I don't know if any of you saw a recent (last night on Canadian TV) news item. Apparently 2 research docs got together to make a machine that could show the brain as it reacted to certain medications or a stroke. Previously they thought that the 'Anospheres' (I'm not sure if that is spelled right) in the brain when hit with a certain med or hit with a stroke/migraine would open the capillaries and allow meds or another form of treatment to be used. So from this machine they have been able to see that the Anaspheres actually send out immediate calcium particles that close the capillaries instead. The research drug companies were creating new meds that would go on the mistaken premiss. Now they believe that they can proceed with meds or treatments for strokes, migraines and dementia and actually fix the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know about you but I started crying at that point. It was on CTV 6 o'clock news Sept 10 2004. They showed the capillary in the brain reacting to stimulus. Boy was it neat. Thought you would be interested Diane from Canada

Hi Diane, I'm in Toronto. I didn't see that newscast unfortunately, but I recently read an article about a new device that is under testing at McMaster University Hospital. It's a device that a migraine sufferer holds on their head and it transmits magnetic waves into the brain. It's been successful for 75% of people who get auras, and 60% of those with a full-blown migraine. Supposedly people were able to use it, have their migraine disappear and drive home a short time later. Amazing! The device itself looks huge in size. Maybe a Japanese company will buy the rights and make small, cute ones, haha.

I saw that machine too! It looks silly, but I'm up for trying anything at this point. I feel very blessed to have a husband and a boss who both understand and are supportive. I'm currently seeing a doctor with Johns Hopkins here in Baltimore. Because the migraines have become so disruptive, I'll be persuing it further. Our insurance is about to switch, upon my husband separation from the US Air Force. I'm praying for an understanding, aggressive new doctor! -Chrystine rosewater <rosewater@...
