New Medication

Hi I don't post often but do read all your mail and think wow where do all these drugs come from. I have never been prescribed anything before for my migraines even though I get them nearly every day. I now find I cannot cope and have gone to my doctors who have prescribed Pizotifen1.5mg to be taken at bedtime - they act as a preventative and Domperamol 10mg. Does anyone no of any side effects. Catrina

Dear Catrina, Sorry, but no help here. I have been having migaines for seven years now and I have never heard of these two drugs. Maybe they are new and will stop the migraines. :-) Let us know how it works out. By the way, sometimes you have to be on the meds for about a month to really notice a difference. What did your doc say? Bye, Sandra

I wonder if "Pizotifen" is the same as Pyzotyline here in Canada? The trade name is Sandomigran. I've never heard of "Domperamol", so I can't help there. Jeff

Sandra My doctor did not give me a time scale on how long it would be before they would take effect. But I have been on them two days now and I have not had a migraine. Thanks Catrina
