motrin

Hey everyone! Just a little thought. My GI doc who's treating me for unknown stomach probs and GERD says it's entirely possible that my food allergies, leaky gut, GERD, throwing up everything I eat, etc was caused by overuse of motrin. I took ALOT when I was in 7th and 8th grade, on advice of my docs to treat my migraines. I alternated w/tylenol, but still took motrin every day for months at a time. Please be careful in your motrin use, though I doubt that it would help anyone's migraines much. I took so much because it never helped. For some reason I thought the more I took maybe someday it'd work. Now i just sleep or grit my teeth when I get a bad one. Hi Ashlie! I can't tell you what can prevent stomach probs, but if you ever want to know some of the consequences of over-use, drop me a line! Kelsey ____ "The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them." Psalm 34:7

Many years ago, in the time leading up to the first of two major redesigns of my right knee, I was put on the equivalent of 24 aspirins (ASA; aspirin isn't a trademark here in Canada) per day. What I actually was given was a coated pill. I just can't remember the name, but I'm sure it began with an "E". Each pill was the equivalent of two regular aspirins. The idea was for them to be dissolved in the intestines, not the stomach. I was on them for about three months and did not develop any stomach problems. I was a walking zombie, though, and I got so bad that one day I decided to quit. I went cold turkey, probably not the smartest thing I ever did, but within a week to ten days, I felt much better. (And my knee didn't hurt a lot more than it had, either.) Jeff

<snip Could be, but I think it was a longer name than that. Perhaps one is a trade name and the other a generic? Also, there could be different names used in Canada and the US. Jeff
