Methergine

Don't know about this drug in particular, but the uterine connection is not surprising. One of the major side effects of Cafergot (and ergotamine meds in general) is uterine contractions. (Which, by the way, plays into the analysis of the Salem witch trials being the result of ergot contamination.)

Suzanne, Yes, I have been on Methergine...it just did nothing... Nothing good or bad... didn't effect my headaches one way or the other. I was on for almost a year (but then I've had a tubal ligation and my uterus removed and am 41). Hope it helps...I'm looking at opioids around the clock at this point because of both chronic daily headaches PLUS migraines AND two other chronic pain conditions (cervical radiculopathy for which I already take opioids every day and FMS/MPS).... Just increasing the opioids I'm already on... I can't avoid my triggers---light, noise, smell, vibration (being in a car), crying, sleeping too much/too little. etc. And it takes very little of them--I can't even open up the drapes of my house at this point!
