Last night was the worst night yet......
The pain was awful! I almost went to the ER but I figured that it was just the pain from the mammary artery because of the location. It was like at the top of my left breast and it was almost like someone was squeezing it so hard - it left me breathless a few times. I also think it hurt so bad because y'day was the 1st day I haven't been full of pain meds. I'm running out and since the surgeon won't refill them, I'm having to ration - and I didn't take that many. Finally though, the pain subsided enough for me to fall asleep on the couch for awhile.....I just hope I never feel that pain again! Today I feel ok, a lil stiff and robotic but better than y'day. Thank ya'll so very much for responding last night - you have no idea (ok, I guess you do) how much that helped me! My family doesn't understand because they haven't been there and it really helps to hear from others who have dealt with the same thing. I'm so glad I found this place! Missy
Missy, I'm glad you rode through that pain. I'm sure you're having some rebound pain from decreasing the pain med so drastically. Sometimes my healing pains hit me at the darndest times and hard. I worry about the next day and then sometimes it's better. Just so the "squeezing" pain is not connected to the heart with other symptoms, which are trickier for women and different for women. I've had pain in my back, right throat, down left arm, feeling of indigestion, sweating, and squeezing..which has been my heart. If you question if it's your heart at all, you should call the hospital and or take nitro's if you have them. Glad you're feeling better today.. Lor The pain was awful!
