Kids and Migraines

Here's an online support group I came across for parents with children who suffer from migraines.

Guess what, I tried to conntect to the address for the kids with migraines chat, and it was the one I was going to host on Dr. Koop's web site, but because I don't have enough memory my computer can't hook up to the Dr. kopp chats so I was never able to start it. I have sent an e mail to AOL to start one at their better health site but haven't heard back yet. I'll try again tonight. Cathy/Justin

Anyone with kids and migraines? My oldest now 11 for the past week has been complaining of headaches today he actually ended up in bed but didn't get sick but kept complaining of a tummy ache associated with it. I said how bad is your headache he kept saying medium. FInally he took three or four kids motrin and laid down in a dark room and that seemed to help. Im beginning to wonder if he isn't following in mommies footsteps. I sure hope not 11 is awfully young to start with this. He already has other medical issues ADD, possible mood disorder, asthmatic. I feel so bad for him. As hard as it is to say it i would have rather had the headache for him. Sally Medical Assisting Student Keiser e-College

Unless your son is large, 3 or 4 motrin is a lot for a child. He was taking childrens motrin and the bottle said for a child 10-12 2-4 motrin so i gave him wht the bottle recommended. He is not large by anymeans. Actually he is small but so am i so that is to be expected. At his last visit a week ago he was 64 lbs up a whole lb in a year but we were pleased with that with his ADD meds which tend to curb his eating and now that school is officially done for the year. YEAH!! He is off of that so could the headaches be from coming off of that? Well maybe ill call the doc and ask. Just kinda bothers me with my history and him been complaining of it off and on now for a week or two. Sally Medical Assisting Student Keiser e-College
