I'm Back Home

As some of you know, I made a trip to the health center yesterday for a check up because I had been fighting off an illness for the last month. They got a bit excited to find my EKG was abnormal and they shipped my scrawny butt to the hospital via ambulance. Although the EKG was correct, it didn't show any major changes from the last one in 2003. All the blood work on the enzymes, white cells, red cells, purple and plaid cells, jail cells and what other kinds of cells they could check came out okay. However, I am to follow up with my cardiologists sometime soon. The cat scan didn't show any tumors (NO THEY DIDN'T USE A DOG) which was VERY GOOD NEWS to me. It did show heavy congestion which I already knew about and tried to explain to the docs before hand. But they had to confirm it by shoving a long needle up my right nostril. Believe me, your feet and legs will squirm a little but one thing for sure, you won't move your head until they remove that *&($%#* needle! DARN! I believe it was up far enough, that it made my eyes cross! Just a little warning here too should any of you go through the same process. ALWAYS go to the bathroom first!!!! I think I would have to rate the needle lady right up there very close to the catheter puller lady (from when I had my quadruple bypass in 1999) which I happen to learn very quickly why she has earned the title HEAD NURSE but that's another story. I'll sum it up very quickly. I believe she thought she was trying to start a chain saw as she hiked her leg upon my bed and gave a mighty (and I DO MEAN A TREMENDOUS MIGHTY!) YANK on the starter rope...I mean catheter! You know, she didn't feel any pain either as she laughed and I weeped. :) Guess you had to be there. Now every time I see a name tag with HEAD NURSE on it, I tend to protect myself especially if she has beady eyes. Anyway, I'm back home and will recover a couple more days before returning to the office. Have a wonderful weekend! Jackie

Jack, You are in such a wonderful humor considering what you've just been through! Hope you are well on the mend soon. I'm trying to get a visual on just what it is you aim to protect when you see that "HEAD NURSE" badge next time..... LOL....and sorry it had to be at your painful experience expense...
