Help me out here is this a pattern?
I have kept a migraine count for the past 3 months. I am going to the dr. today and should I bring this up? July 13-15 migraine, Aug 9-11 migraine, Sept 7,8 (still having one). Would this coincide with my birth control pills? If so, I may have found out my problem. ----- Melissa D. Morgan missy.morgan@...
Hi Melissa, Are these headaches happening about every 2 weeks AFTER your menstrual cycle? That is when I am most likely to get my migraines. Mine are hormone related. I take Ponstel for the ones I can work around (you really get used to coping with migraines that would send a new migrainer to bed) and Zomig for the unfunctional ones. I worry about the side effects of the Zomig and don't care to take it much. Bobbi
Hi Melissa... Oh yes... definitely. Those migraines might be hormone related. You may need to adjust the pills you are taking. Julie
Yes around that time. I take Zomig also and I hate the side effects I am going to ask dr. to maybe prescribes something diff. It works but I hate the way it makes me feel. Do you take 2.5 or 5 mg? I am on the 5. ----- Melissa D. Morgan missy.morgan@...
Hi Melissa, I was on a low-dose birth control pill for a couple of months. In those two months, I was getting migraines about five times more frequently than before I went on the pill. After I stopped the pill, my migraines went back to their usual number. Many migraineurs simply cannot take the pill, because it can really exacerbate migraines. A small percentage of migraineurs are helped by birth control pills, though. Everyone reacts to meds differently, and I hope you find what works for you. Take Care, Laura
