First shower
Barbee: When charley is ready for his first shower, make dam shure you are in there with him. When I tryied to take my first shower I almost passed out. Linda had to help me to the floor. It took me 15 minutes to get up enough strength to get up. A shower is hard work at first and my BP droped to 70/40. You do the work for him at first. Over the next few weeks he will start to take over. When he can shower, dry off and get dressed without problems he is good to go. Steve.
I don't recall having any trouble with showers, but then I doubt I took too many since I was in bed sleeping most of the time. After a week it wasn't a factor. Wow. Your surgeon must have been a drill sergeant! After a few days I started walking around the condo for maybe 10 minutes a day, but I couldn't walk outside alone for a week and then only for maybe 10 - 20 minutes a day. Seems to me that at a certain point all that increased blood flow would be _detrimental_ to your not-yet-healed grafts.
