Feeling left out
You know gang I still feel a little leftout. I set here and read all your posts and see the long list of meds you are on. I also see that all of you are going back in for checkups. As for me I am on NO meds, only 1 asprin. As for the checkups. I have been to the ER 2 times with chest pain. Both times I was told that it was the cold weather and the mammory artery and not to worry. My card told me to get out of his office, that my heart was fine and he did not want to see me again unless something happend. I cannot relate to all the meds that you all are on. Why are you guys having checkups when I was told not to come back. It makes me wounder if my surgery was realy nessary. Something is not rite here. I monitor my own EKG and BP and every thing is fine. My diabetes doctor gives me a copy of my blood tests every 3 months and my colostrol and tryglisrides are all normal. My A1C is a little high but that is normal with me. What the hell is going on here. I even went back to MCO where they did the surgery. They laffed at me and said ,you are fine and sent me home. I would hate to find out that my bypass was ennessary. Steve Y.
It is mysterious, Steve. But...didn't you mention that you didn't have medical insurance? If that was the case, it MUST have been necessary surgery.....because: Believe me, when you don't have insurance....they don't do anything to you they don't have to do, because they don't want to spend the money. At least that's the way they treated my brother during the 6 months he lived before passing from cancer. Connie "Steven A. Young" <say309@... You know gang I still feel a little leftout. Steve, I was wondering also why you do not take a statin drug. That is the one medication that seems to lower your bad cholesterol and raise the good. I go to the cardiologist every 6 months and the same for the primary doctor. I ask the cardiologist if I could wait a year and he was not comfortable with me doing that. My husband only goes yearly and has had a stent but no surgery or heart attack. The doctor just says he thinks a year is too long for me to go that things can happen quickly sometimes and that coronary artery disease is progressive and no real cure yet so over time I will have more problems possibly even with the statin drugs. So Steve, I think you need to be seeing a cardiologist on a regular basis and without running test how do they know your chest pain if from the mammary artery. It just might be something else. Be assertive about your care and go see the doctor and ask why you only need aspirin. I assume your blood pressure it ok and I guess your diabetes is under control with insulin. Hope you keep feeling better and get a medical check up and a second opinion if you need to. Ann From: Steven A. Young
