Jamey...... I had by-pass 6 years ago and at that time I had cardiac rehab which I think actually got me to a better place physically. I had been afraid to do much after surgery and rehab actually helped me mentally realize I could do things......... It was three days a week at the hospital.........totally monitored for the six weeks I attended.....started off with warm up exercises. Then few minutes on the treadmill,,,,,,few minutes on the exercise bike.......few minutes on a machine similiar to a rowing machine.....and then finished up with a arm ergometer which I found the hardest to do. Had cool down period and it was over.....think the class lasted about 45 minutes. I gradually was able to build up the lenght of time of the various machines. Once rehab was done I signed up to continue going to this fitness center that was in the hospital.....it was filled with lots of machines and most everyone that worked out there had graduated from the rehab class and decided to keep working out..........oh yes, once we joined the regular fitness center we also did some weights. Unfortunately we moved out of state and didn't keep up with the regular program....something I think was a mistake. One can work out at home but for me the idea of going to a center witha ll the other people working out kind of motivated me. Hope this gives you some idea of what it was like.........
