Charlies meds.

Thanks Tom, I do have to watch the fluid pills but for the opposite reason. Charlie went into Congestive Heart Failure last Monday. His oxygen intake was only 71 and I am sure you know they want it to be 95 or more. His body no longer releases enough fluid, so that is why he is on the ones he is on. He lost 20 pounds last week, all fluid. My poor husband, has been through the wringer since Dec 23. He looks so much better and feels so much better after getting all that fluid off him. I have to watch him real close, for swelling, wheezing, struggeling to breath and get him in to the ER right away. They say my husbands heart is worn out. The three H.A.'s he had during the week of Dec 23-30 damaged his heart very much. We go to the Heart Surgeon next week. I guess they must be thinking he is transplant material as we have a message on our machine to return the call of a transplant center. We want to talk with the surgeon before setting up an appointment. No one mentioned it before. So getting these records will be really nice to have. Barbee

Morning Barbee and Charlie I too have congestive heart failure and problems with retaining fluids. The last time I was in the hospital for fluid retention I also lost 20 pounds in a couple of days, and only after they increased my lasix to 120 mg per day. I can look at fluids and retain it. I have found that by weighing myself every morning that I can keep it under control. Any weigh gain over 2 to 3 pounds and its time for me to check with the doctors.
