The bypass scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed until I get another problem fixed. Dr. Cooper sent me for another carotid artery test at the Kennestone card center They found that the Carotid Arch has a severe blockage, probably for the last five years. No surgery should have ever been done with that bad Carotid Arch. The Card at kennestone says the other carotid echo tests were not done properly, and they missed this blockage. Now I have to have a cat scan of the Carotid arch, Carotid arteries and brain this Friday. Then they will make a decision. (Or that is I will make a decision.) They will see how bad the blockage is with the cat scan, then decide if they can to the whole thing at once, or maybe put a stent in the Carotid arch, wait two months, take me off the prescribed plavix, then do the bypass. I might just make the decision to dump the whole bunch, (even Dr. Cooper) and go to another heart clinic, like maybe one of the ones that know how to do non invasive bypass surgery. If it had not been for Doctor Cooper requesting new tests, I would never have know this, so at least he seems to know what he is doing. He did not beleive all the previous tests, but if he had not had them do the tests all over again, He would have performed the five hour invasive surgery on me with a 95 percent blocked Carotid Arch. At least he knows what he is doing, but for all I know he might not be the best. I might find someone who can do a non invasive procedure.
