Bill, I agree with you. We are all different and we do not know what each persons tolerance level is. If we were all the same, then this list or any other would not be needed. Every0ne would have the same experience and same results. We are here to support each other, it doesn't mean we have to feel the same about our decisions and choices. So Ann, we are here for you any time. Now, I am a #1 Cardinals fan but after the Rams made it to the Super Bowl and won, ( I do not like football but my husband and children do) then I believe the Cubs can win the World Series, too. lol I am ready for baseball, come on Spring ! I am not sure exactly where Donna was coming from and after reading Connie's post I did reread the post just to see what I missed. After the second reading, I also think there was something going on with her and not me so I let it go. Just know that when your mind doesn't work the way you think it should, you might be writing things that sound more harsh or bitter than they are really meant to be. I am like you Rita. I get lots of support from this group and spare my family lots of complaining. That way I enjoy them and they enjoy my company without knowing all the boring details of my surgery. So this board has been a real life saver for me. Ann

Ann, you said it better than I tried to explain it to you! And I really do think that's what happens a lot on this board. We just all have to try to overlook each other when it happens. And as I've learned about myself...try so hard to turn the right cheek.....the one above my neck! I failed to do that recently here, and I regret that I did. Ann, I would be so unstressed in Vegas pulling slots! That is up until I lost all my money! I'm not good at putting away a portion of my winnings, or walking away when I should! It's probably best that I never get to live there for an extended period of time. I'd be living on the streets! It's raining in TEXAS too! Connie Connie Turner
I'd like to there playing Texas Hold em. So since I can not be there I'll just play for free at Holdempoker.com. Or at Pogo.com. They have many different types of games. What ever happend to STRIP poker when we were younger?? Now it is Texas Hold em. When you play strip poker both players come away a winner. In texas hold em only one person looses his or her shirt. It is allways some one worse off than me...l am lucky l get around pretty good... get to go out when l feel like it...cook and wash clotes...like l was about to shut the puter off getting dressed to go out...even if it is raining...lol it is 50 out there...WOW finaly som warmt...when l saw your post come in... Luv you...God Bless...Hugzz Rita Hi Ann and anyone else interested This is not to make you feely guilty at all but I just want to comment on how lucky you seem to me to be able to do so many things in your life - my son has been waiting to take me to see Aviator but will now go with his sister as he wants to see it before the award show - I literally have not been out even for a walk since March 2004 - my day consists of a lot of resting with my legs suspended on a special foam wedge and a daily shower, eating dinner standing up and my family and our lovable cat Whiskers coming in my room to say hello. At night I go downstairs as my husband has made a platform for the couch so I can sit there sometimes. Otherwise it is to low and I can't get up again.The biggest event in my life lately has been our son's hamster had babies and he puts the cage on my bed so I can watch them. I have never seen baby animals before and I am just fascinated how this little bit of a thing knows how to look after her 7 babies. One dropped into another part of the cage when the mother went for food and when the mother returned to her nest she knew one was missing - that truly fascinated me. I started Chemo on Tuesday by oral medication - hopefully it will keep the tumour at the same size or even shrink it until it comes time that they can do the surgery, Just thought I would let you know what is happening to me so far, I was only sick one day from the chemo Gail
Ann, I too have an addictive personality....and am obsessive compulsive. That's why I'm glad I never smoked...and glad I'm allergic to alcohol! Gambling.....I'd be living on the streets! That's why hubby figured it would be best to just get me a couple of slot machines to play at home to keep me obsessed with the spinning wheels, and the humming noises! When I've lost it all, I just use the key to open the machine and raid the bucket, and start all over! But I long for Shreveport and Vegas like a person longs for a cigarette or drink! Glad that both of the hubbies have been so tight with financial concerns....and do not care for gambling at all! They have helped keep me anchored down in that respect! Connie Connie Turner
Gail, It is really sad to know what a struggle you have and all that you have been through. I am truly sorry. Hope you can get past all that and be well again so you can go and do all the things you have missed by not being able to get out of the house. It sounds like you have a loving and caring family and that is priceless. Being able to do things is wonderful but will not take the place of a loving family to help you heal quickly. It's that caring that we seem to draw from so we can fight back. Just keep your spirits up and keep us all posted on how you are doing. You are truly an amazing person and I am humbled to read your posts. Ann
Connie, glad you are aware of the tendency to become addicted. So many people are not and it gets them before they realize there's a problem. At 62, I have a couple of friends who still smoke and both have serious health problems so I am really thankful that I quit the cigarettes before they got me. I am very careful with the gambling and do play online free games and have some slot games on the computer. I'm also very careful with the xanax and only use it for anxiety or panic as using it to help me sleep would become a habit real quick I'm afraid so I just don't do that anymore even though it really works great. If it help with arthritis pain like the Bextra did, I would be hooked for sure, lol. Ann
Ann, Yeah, that's exactly how I take my xanax. Only for severe anxiety or panic attacks. And the severe anxiety was getting me last night. I also have Ambien for an as need basis. I chose the xanax last night simply because I can tell it was the anxiety more so than insomnia keeping me awake. Connie ISTEVE RAY <ramblingrays@...
