Another Question

Forgot to ask... For anyone who has experienced bypass surgery, have you had pain in your shoulders? If so, how did you cope with it? Thanks again, Carol (using daughter's ID) ccbyrd@...

Hi Donna! Thank you, too, for your words of wisdom--the ones that come from experience! The answer seems to be--for the moment--that it all takes time. The more he hears this from you experts, the more patient he will be. And, gee, what a more pleasant life for me! He also has asthma and diabetes, but we're already noticing that his breathing is soooo much better! With six blockages, he probably needed 02. I'll glean what I can from the posted notes and hope to get more ammo for him. I've printed your notes. Thanks! Smiles, Carol ccbyrd@...

Hi everyone you all are SOOO knowledgeable I thought you can answer hubbys question. He is 3 weeks post op from single bypass surgery with using mammary artery. He is having fairly sharp pain, slightly above and over from the right nipple. It has been since day one. Do you think it is a pulled muscle?? Or an alien that the surgeon left in???? Alice

Which side was the mammary artery harvest from? Sometimes that can have residual pain. Hopefully pain medications can alleviate it. Talk with your surgeon about this. 'AL'

Unfortunately the surgery was done thru the VA and we are being "seen" and I use that term loosely, at a different VA so the surgeon is not available. ALice

I am also three weeks post op (7-way bypass). They used aeries from my left mammary, right leg and left arm. I have experienced some slight pain in the same area you desribed but not sharp pain. My surgeon told me that it was most likely from the two fractured ribs rather than anything else. It gets better each day. But I would not hesitate to talk to whoever your current doctor is.

Do you have the name and telephone number of the surgeon who did his procedure? I would give them a call. He should have a nurse in the office who could check his records and provide you with some information and possible guidance. Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself! Unfortunately, many surgeons like to move on the the next case and not fool with followup if they can get away with it. 'AL'

Let me say that I am computer stupid except for this board which a friend of mine found for me after my cabg, and e-mail. My question is how do I copy something from an e-mail and then paste it on this message board. I pull up the e-mail,hit copy, then have no idea where to go from that point. I guess I will have to go to Staples and ask one of the computer geeks for help, unless one of you kind hearted souls can help me......Thanks...Mac

Mac, There are several ways: You should have two section buttons on the top of your mouse. Use the left one to drag across the material you want to copy and it will highlight it. Then use the right section to click and scroll down to "copy" in the the box it brings up. Then go to compose your email and use the right section button on your mouse again. Click it and it will bring up a little box again, and you can choose "paste". Another way it to use the little characters at the top of the blank email page. You should highlight the portion you want to copy with your left section of the top of your mouse, then go to the little icon that has two pieces of paper together....that means "copy". Then when you are ready to paste...the icon for that is the little picture that has a clipboard with one piece of paper on it. If you don't find the little pictures on your screen...you should find "Edit" at the top, and it will offer the copy and paste options. Hope I'm not confusing you here. I can do it...not so sure I'm good at giving directions though! Hang in there....it gets easier, and we all had to learn it at one time...so we understand! Connie W Mac <maclu@...
