Karen -- This is the problem with treating migraines -- the triggers are as diverse as the number of people with migraines... Corn: almost every sweetened drink these days is sweetened with corn syrup, and corn starch shows up in many places... Olives: now that olive oil is "hip", watch out for that as an ingredient... Check out the 100 tablet bottles of generic chlortrimeton (chlorpheniremine maleate) in your local pharmacy -- my son's girlfriend leaves a bottle of them here to forestall reactions to soda (corn syrup) as well as our cats. Ron Thanks Ron. What a surprise to actually think so many things have corn. That really stinks for me. :( I always use olive oil also. Not to mention the cucumbers..I've got to get on the ball and watch what I eat I guess. Karen...NY
There may not be a direct link from allergies to migraines, but don't forget that there's an entire category of "histamine headaches"...
Do any of u get headaches triggered by allergies (hay fever) I have had a three day one and also just started real bad allergies. Cheryl
All I can say is I had allergies really bad when I was pregnant so my Doctor put me on Ornade Spansule. I had NO migraines for 5 weeks on that med!!! I'm going to try it again sometime. I did try it with Periactin when Ornade was temp. off the market but the periactin didn't work. My allergies are pretty subtle when I'm not pregnant but are horrible when I am. Oh sure, I can get headaches with hayfever, and they can turn into migraines if I'm not careful. So I now tend to be a bit more proactive with my hayfever meds. I know, if you shake me I rattle, but it's worth it. Eve -- `You haven't connected; this is extremely coincidental line noise.`
