adrenaline injections
I was talking to lady last night and she says when she feels a migraine coming on she injects herself in the back of the neck with adrenaline. Has anyone ever heard of this? Jan

Way back when I was first diagnosed as having cluster headaches (they're really migraines, but I won't get into the story about that idiot of a family doctor), I was put on Inderal (Propanolol). I also had heart arrythmia and the Inderal was for it, too. My doctor said that there are two kinds of adrenaline, the kind you use when someone screams "boo" in your ear unexpectedly and the other kind which works in the background all the time. He said I over-produced the latter and that this was the cause of both my "cluster headaches" and my heart arrythmia. The Inderal was supposed to block the excess. Given the faulty diagnosis of my migraines, his claim that he didn't know what else to do for me at the same time he was referring other patients to a headache clinic, and his statement that I would outgrow my knee trouble when, in fact, growing was what caused the problem, I don't know if what he said about adrenaline and Inderal is accurate or not. If it is, then I'm curious about the idea of boosting adrenaline by injecting some. Does anyone know more about this? Jeff
I hear you on this: I initially was diagnosed with sinusitis and spent a couple years off and on antibiotics for "sinus infections." No wonder they weren't getting any better--my sinuses were fine! It took a CAT scan to prove that my sinuses were clear and that something else was wrong. Lynn
