a "touchy" question, haha
Marcella, Just had to answer this question for you. Keep in mind that I am 37 years and didn't have the MI. I was ready at 2 weeks post-op. I'm not saying it was the typical night of "romance", nor was it the best I've ever had, but it was worth the risk! I figured at worst I'd die happy! Tell your husband not to place much emphasis on it, but do give it the `ole college try", he might surprise himself... Best of luck to you all, Brian
Four weeks for me. Probably not coincidentally, about the time I stopped taking painkillers. But 'normal' is always a moving target around here. :)
Depression is always a possibility after bypass, and should be considered in this regard. Also, recovery from surgery may take a while. I found the surgery to be very helpful in the short term in terms of physical response (there, is that delicate enough? lol) . That was 7 years ago; now I am 50 and I am definitely changing... age related, and in the way your husband describes I suspect. Some say its "all in my head" - I don't know at this point. So there could be a few things going on - recovery from surgery, depression as a result of surgery, and normal aging.. H
